This Monoclonal anti-Human Hemoglobin A1c antibody is suitable for ELISA and LFD applications.

Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) is a blood test that measures the average blood sugar level over the past two to three months. It is commonly used to monitor and diagnose diabetes, as well as to assess how well individuals with diabetes are managing their blood sugar levels over time.

When glucose (sugar) is present in the bloodstream, it can bind to hemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen. The higher the blood sugar levels, the more glucose binds to hemoglobin. The HbA1c test measures the percentage of hemoglobin that has glucose attached to it.

Since red blood cells have a lifespan of about 2-3 months, the HbA1c test provides a more comprehensive picture of long-term blood sugar control compared to other blood glucose tests that only reflect current levels.
