Beta-2 microglobulin (B2M) is a host cell protein (HCP) generated by CHO cells during production of biotherapeutics. This process-related impurity accumulates in the extracellular space as it is released from dead CHO cells and secreted from viable cells during cell culture. Because it contains 22 immunoglobulin-like domains, B2M co-elutes with monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) during protein A purification and can thus be present as a contaminant in therapeutic mAb formulations.
Purified recombinant CHO beta 2-Microglobulin (B2M) expressed in CHO-S cells. Contains a 6xHIS tag.
